Now that the children have returned to school after the long summer holidays, it feels like a time for new beginnings. I love September - there's a slight chill in the air but we still have spells of hot sun and there are a multitude of flowers still going strong in the cutting garden. September is the best month for planting out any biennial seedlings that were sown in early summer and I will be sowing some seed of hardy annuals such as Ammi majus and Cornflowers in the potting shed for early flowers next year.
Today though is time to reflect on all the flowers that I've been picking over the summer. I have regained control of my laptop (now that my son is at school rather than hogging it to watch random You-Tubers talking about Minecraft and Harry Potter) and finally have time to upload some of the photos of flowers I've been picking this Summer - enjoy!
